Websites

Not a brochure. A structure that survives changes.

Company sites, multi-domain groups, course platforms, businesses selling into several countries. Hand-built on WordPress, editable by your own team, and every account registered in your name.

The problem with the word

Website covers two different jobs.

One of them is a brochure. Five pages, a contact form, done. Those are perfectly good things and you do not need us for one — a decent template and a weekend will get you there, and anyone charging you a lot for it is charging you for the weekend.

The other is a structure. Several businesses under one roof, or fifteen language versions, or ninety courses with enrolment and payment, or simply a company that will not look the way it looks today in three years. That is a different job, and it is the one we take.

The difference is not size. It is whether the thing has to survive being changed. A brochure breaks the moment you add a fourth item to a three-item menu; a structure was built expecting exactly that, which is why the sites we made in 2020 are still getting new sections rather than being replaced.

Three shapes

Almost everything we build is one of these.

Each one is a different structural problem. Each one is running for a client right now.

01

One company, several faces

Who this is

Groups, holdings, and companies whose divisions each need their own front door without pretending to be unrelated businesses.

What it needs

Shared components underneath, so a change to the header is one change and not six. Separate domains where the brands really are separate, one system holding them together.

SEEWALD Gruppe runs six connected domains this way, all on the same principle. See the list

02

A platform, not a page

Who this is

Academies, associations and membership organisations — anywhere people log in and then do something rather than just read.

What it needs

Enrolment, payment, materials behind a login, and a content structure your own team can extend without calling us every time a course is added.

The AfN Academy runs ninety courses on one of these, with enrolment and payment in the same place. See the list

03

One business, many markets

Who this is

Hotels, manufacturers, exporters — anyone whose customers arrive from more than one country and expect their own language.

What it needs

Real translations with their own URLs and hreflang, so each market can be found in its own language. Not a browser plugin swapping words after the page has loaded.

Eventhotel Pyramide runs in fifteen languages under one structure. Read the case

The part nobody asks about early enough

Everything is in your name.

Domain, hosting, analytics, ad accounts — registered to you, with the logins in your hands from the first day. If you ever want to move, you take all of it with you and we will help you pack rather than make it difficult. That sounds like a small thing until you have tried to get a domain back from an agency that would rather keep it, and it is one of the more common reasons people arrive at our maintenance page.

Describe the structure, not the design.

Tell us what your business is actually made of — divisions, markets, audiences, and what is going to change next year. The design follows from that. It rarely works the other way round.
